Austrian–Hungarian border, September 5–6, 2015, Hegyeshalom /Nickelsdorf
Thousands of refugees mostly from Syria, are marching on foot toward the Austrian border. Men, women, and many children of all ages. Some are limping and using improvised crutches. Wheelchair users are also among those seeking protection. In a fenced-off area under the open sky, people sit and lie in the cold, waiting to be transported by the provided buses to the train station in Nickelsdorf, Austria.
From Nickelsdorf, special trains departed every 30 minutes via Vienna and Salzburg to Munich in Germany.
